The Nigeria Union of Journalists, Press Centre, Offa Road, Ilorin was agog when the Prince himself, Rt. Hon. Kolawole Mathew Olusola present himself for the Award given by the Correspondents’ Chapel of the Union.
The Chairman, Kwara NUJ Correspondents’ Chapel, Mallam AbdulHakeem Garba said that the news of the Speaker’s accomplishments and achievement in youth empowerment reached him and putting heads together with members of his executives, it was decided to give him the award.
Aside his duty of law making, Prince Kolawole Mathew Olusola goes the extra mile investing in the future of teeming youths in Kogi and everywhere they are found. Just like the scriptures say, what he sowed in secret, without political motives is been rewarded in the open.
Prince Kolawole Mathew Olusola said, “I have been through this terain, I know what it is not to have so now that I have an opportunity, I should do the little I can to alleviate the sufferings of the youths.”
The award conferred on Kogi State Speaker was a programme lined up with the Correspondents’ Chapel 2020 Press Week, but due to exigency of office, he could not show up.
However, as fate would have it, the selfless Prince was in Ilorin to rob minds with their Kwara State counterparts on the ambition of Governor Yahya Bello to present himself for 2023 Presidential race. That mission gave him ample opportunity to receive the award in person.
In his citation, we discover the person and build up of this amiable son of Kogi state.
